Plastic Surgery, through science.
Evidence-based information about plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, written for patients.
I use this space to answer questions that frequently come up during consultations, explain the anatomy and reasoning behind different procedures, and look critically at some of the treatments and trends in aesthetic medicine.
The aim is simple: to help patients understand what a treatment can realistically achieve, what the evidence actually supports, and where its limitations are.
Why I use the Deep Plane Facelift
The deep plane facelift has become my preferred facelift technique because it addresses facial aging where it actually occurs: in the deeper tissues of the face. By repositioning descended structures rather than relying primarily on skin tension, it allows for natural restoration of the jawline, cheeks, and neck.
What non-invasive procedures complicate a facelift? What’s the right path?
How non-invasive are the non surgical skin tightening procedures? How much do they complicate a facelift and/or necklift?
